The unit's Submix In connectors make working with an external mixer a breeze, and provide a convenient means of expansion for the musician running virtual MIDI tracks. This makes the entire mixdown process easier and more streamlined. The new TASCAM 424 MKII Portastudio also provides a dedicated Monitor Out that enables you to patch directly to a monitor amp or powered speakers without having to repatch connections to the mixdown recorder. It's easy to use and enables you to focus on the musical task - not on the mechanics of operation. The system provides easy capturing of the punch in and out points, incorporates a rehearsal feature, and makes the entire recording process hands-free. Only what is pictured is included.įor the artist / engineer working alone, the 424 MKII will be that much easier to operate with the inclusion of automated Punch In / Out capability.

Please see pictures for details on item condition. This recorder is in good condition with normal wear, has been fully tested, and works great. This used Tascam 424 MKII Portastudio comes with an attached Power Cable and the Owner's Manual. Should be fine for the rest. The PORTASTUDIO 424 MKII is a complete audio production facility in a single box. Get the ground right by testing for a short or very low ohms between ct and common point as above. They may double up the din pins I.e pins 1&2= 11.5v, 3&4 = ct etc. Should be easy to figure out from inside too as the centre tap of the transformer will go to ground ( 0vdc, common, ground or sleeve if any jack socket) the other two wires connect to the rectifier circuit and can be either way around since it's AC. The multi- pin din plug will simply be something like (pin 1= 11.5, pin3=ct or 0v, pin 5 = 11.5) Manufacturers love to use odd values like 11.5v so people think that it won't work unless you have exactly 11.5v x2, in other words, their supply. The DC conversion and regulation is handled inside the recorder.Īn extra 0.5v won't hurt at all and a 35 or 40 VA tranny is fine, could even go 30 VA since you have the extra. This actually makes it even simpler if you can't find a supply.Ī transformer with a 12-0-12 secondary winding ( 24v with center tapping) and a VA rating of 32 VA (which gives you roughly 1250mA).

What you are looking at there is an AC center-tapped supply.
